The Grand Orange Lodge of Ireland has condemned a vandalism
attack on an Orange Hall in Tyrone.
Security lights and drain pipes were broken at Ballymacall
Orange Hall, mid-way between Pomeroy and Dungannon on Friday
night.
Republican graffiti was also daubed on the building and a
determined effort was made to remove security grilles.
The hall was built in 1985 and has been damaged in two arson
attacks since then. This is the second time the hall has been
vandalised.
A Grand Lodge spokesman said:
Fortunately damage was relatively minor on this occasion,
but it is particularly worrying as the Twelfth is being held
in Pomeroy this year.
We know there are people who do not want any Orange
presence in the area and we would ask local community leaders
to condemn this attack without reservation.
Anyone who has any information about the attack should contact
the local police.
