Attack On Limavady Orange Hall

8 July 2010

The Grand Orange Lodge of Ireland has condemned vandalism at an Orange Hall in Limavady during the night.

Substantial damage was caused when chunks of masonry were thrown through windows at the front of the building in Catherine Street.

A credit union uses part of the building and computers were damaged in its office.

A spokesman for Grand Lodge said:

"There has been a spate of attacks on Orange Halls in the past few days. Fortunately damage has been relatively minor but it is a worrying trend. We would encourage people to pass on any relevant information to the police."
