Vandalism Attack On Orange Hall

14 January 2008

The Grand Orange Lodge of Ireland has condemned vandalism at an Orange Hall in Tyrone.

Thirteen windows were broken at Dyan Orange Hall, about two miles from Caledon.

A spokesman said:
"It would appear that the people responsible for the attack used an implement like a sledgehammer to break the windows and damage other exterior fittings. We believe the attack was part of recent vandalism in the Caledon area."

The Orange Hall is home to Dyan LOL 1, the first lodge to receive a warrant when the Orange Institution was formed in 1795.
