Rarely is it possible to find information
relating to the Williamite wars in Ireland without having to
wade your way through numerous books or pamphlets. Well, not
any more. A new In Your Pocket Guide to Orangeism has been developed
to assist students and the wider community to get a better understanding
of Orangeism.
David Scott, Community Education
Officer of the Grand Orange Lodge of Ireland said, "the
new compact publication is a very colourful design using the
medium of manga art to illustrate the key characters involved
with each story. It is specifically designed to help students
studying History at Key Stage II and III and indeed should
be of immense benefit for young people studying the new Citizenship
subject, now part of the Northern Ireland curriculum, which
has become part of the statutory curriculum this year".
The publication opens out to A3
size, with the story of the Battle of the Boyne and the Glorious
Revolution on one side and the formation of the Orange Institution
following the Battle of the Diamond on the reverse side, addressing
the myths and misconceptions people may have about the Orange
Order.
